A Short History of Ward Motors and the Jack Trebour Family of Dealerships
Our company was incorporated on October 11, 1943 in Newark New Jersey by Mr. Corbin Ward and continues to be Ward Motors today. Initially we were a Plymouth-DeSoto dealer. We became a Ford dealership in 1950 and were located at 239 Central Avenue in Newark and later on Clinton Avenue in Irvington. Super Duty trucks were a large part of our business during the early years. Another significant part of our business at that time was with Ford parts and in 1954 we were ranked 4th in the nation in Ford parts sales. Mr. Jack Trebour joined the company in 1957. He was Corbin Ward's son-in-law and marked his 50th year with our Company in 2007.
We relocated to Morris County in 1982. It was then that we changed our trade name to Jack Trebour Ford. Initially we were located on South Salem Street in Dover, but built our current state-of-the-art facility at 906 Route 10 Randolph New Jersey in 1990. 2007 was our Company's 25th year in Morris County.
Soon after relocating to our new facility we began to offer the Suzuki brand of cars and SUV's. You may visit our Suzuki Automobile site at www.jacktreboursuzuki.com.
In 1997, we formed another company, Jack Trebour Motorcycles www.trebourmotorcycles.com now located on Route 46 in Ledgewood New Jersey where we sell and service motorcycles and ATV's representing the Suzuki, Ducati, Triumph, and MV Augusta brands. 2007 was our motorcycle dealerships 10th anniversary.
Our family's 4th generation presently works in the Randolph and Ledgewood stores. Over the years, our family has tried to always do business in a manner that would cause people to want to continue coming back to us in the future. Our hope is that people will like the way we do business...honestly!
We were recently awarded Ford Motor Company's President's Award for excellence in customer service.
